First- and second- level degrees

Below are listed the first- and second- level degrees in Industrial Chemistry activated at the Dept. of Industrial Chemistry - Bologna

In order to achieve the First-level degree the student must have earned 180 credits (CFU) distributed in a maximum of 20 exams, for a period of 3 years. After passing the exam or, in any case, have attained all the credits required by the teaching plan, the student must pass a final exam, which may be oral, written or practical. Once the student has passed the final examination, he obtain the bachelor's degree ("Dottore").

To achieve the Second-level degree, the student must have earned 120 credits, distributed in a maximum of 20 exams, for a period of 2 years. After passing the exam or, in any case, have attained all the credits required by the teaching plan, the student must prepare a thesis elaborated in an original way, under the guidance of a supervisor. After the successful completion of the final examination, the student obtain the master's degree (1) ("Dottore Magistrale").

(1) The Italian master's degree should not be confused with Italian "Masters", which are specialistic courses which guarantee a more practical education but do not give access to further levels of studies.
